Cut out the pieces of the house carefully. If you should happen to sever a digit or limb while cutting, a little blood could be the perfect decoration to your haunted house model, if applied conscientiously. Put the extraneous body part on ice for later, whenever master has time to sew it back on.
Look at the instructions on each page before cutting out the pieces. The house has several optional levels of detail depending on your skill level.
These symbols are used on the model:
Cut along edge |
Mountain fold |
Mountain fold |
Cut out the pieces using a scissors or a hobby knife with ruler on a cutting mat. Fold the tabs of the smallest pieces with tweezers.
Score the dotted fold lines by scratching the paper surface lightly with a knife run along a ruler to make a straight, crisp crease.
For valley folds, poke a knife tip or pin through the paper at the little triangles to mark the fold line, then flip the paper over to score on the back.
The model is best assembled with ordinary craft glue. Squeeze the pieces together with tweezers to set the glue quickly. Double-stick tape can also be used to attach the interior walls.
Complete the house with fake cobwebs and toy spiders, or arrange dried plants and twigs around the exterior. For an especially spooky scene, add dry ice and sound effects!
