35 East Wacker Drive 1:2000 scale miniature paper model, about 3 inches tall when built Originally known as the Jeweler's Building, this 1926 skyscraper was one of the last built in the Beaux Arts style in Chicago. The building originally had an oversized elevator to bring autos directly to the offices of its jeweler tenants for higher security. In the 1940s, the domed cupola on the 40th floor featured a lounge and restaurant with panoramic views of the city. Read more:
