The White House
1:1000 scale miniature paper model, about 2 inches wide by 1 inch tall
The presidential palace was a major part of Pierre LEnfants plan of Washington. President John Adams was the first occupant of the house when it was completed in 1800. The building was burned by the British in the War of 1812, but was rebuilt. It has been remodeled, redecorated and renovated numerous times since, but remains a treasure house of American history.
A 1:750 scale version of this model is printed in the book American Landmarks: Miniature Models to Cut and Assemble
