The "man on the street" or vox populi interview that is a staple of late night comedy TV has a long history in print journalism. A reporter stops random people in a public space and asks each a stock question. Put on the spot, could you come up with an interesting answer, knowing that your friends and neighbors will see it in the paper tomorrow morning?
Inquisitive reporters at the Chicago Tribune caught up with two Lyndale Street residents who were running errands downtown. Here are the spontaneous thoughts given by N.S. Logan at 3050 in 1942 and young Miss Loretta Brown at 3145 in 1922.
