Sven Peterson purchased this house in 1885 for $1,250, though he sold the property back to the developer John Johnston Jr. just two years later. This small 2-story workers cottage was built on a ground-level foundation without a basement, perhaps to save time and expense. The house was divided into two units sometime before 1930.

The house was demolished in August 2017.
