model scale 1:1500
Architect William Pereira designed this distinctive tower of San Francisco's skyline. The tapered walls are designed to resist earthquake tremors, but the iconic shape has served mainly as an oversized symbol for the Transamerica insurance corporation, although the company no longer has offices in the building.
A 1:2000 scale postcard version of this model is also available from Wurlington Press
