Flushed down the Mississippi
Early yesterday morning an ocean-bound tanker rammed an oil barge on the Mississippi just upriver from New Orleans, spilling 400,000 gallons of heavy fuel oil. River traffic has been stopped on the river until the spill can be contained, but as yet little has been done to clean up the spilled oil except let it flow downstream toward the Gulf of Mexico.
